Tom France is BAD for Small Business:
Incentives matter.
When taxes go up, investment goes down.
When regulations increase, small businesses struggle.
When we talk about supporting small businesses, we need to look at actions, not slogans.
According to the NFIB’s 2025 Voting Record, Tom France voted with small‑business interests only 25% of the time.
He voted against lowering Montana’s income‑tax rate, which would have helped family‑owned shops and sole proprietors keep more of what they earn.
He voted
against raising the business‑equipment tax exemption, which would have helped contractors, tradespeople, and small manufacturers invest in new equipment.
He also voted against several reforms that would have reduced liability exposure and regulatory costs for small employers.
These aren’t abstract policy debates, these are decisions that affect whether a local business can expand, whether a contractor can buy new equipment, and whether a young entrepreneur decides to start a business here.
Missoula deserves representation that understands how these votes impact real people trying to build something in our community.
